There’s something inside of me

Like fire in my blood

That runs through my mind

Like a torrent in flood

A thousand wild horses

Run out of my control

And they are kicking up the dust

Into the eyes of my soul

The constant fight to keep control

All the strength inside me goes

I want the hurt to set me free

And disappear this agony

Inside the rooms of empty years

And all the thoughts I’ve left behind

There is something inside me controlling every word

My mind listens to it

But my ears they have not heard

Can my heart no longer feel?

Can my eyes no longer see?

Has the promise of each day

Now fulfilled its final role

And the book I used to write

Closed its covers on my soul

For a man who cannot feel

Is as blind as he is dumb

And a man without a voice

Cannot tell you very much

For to simply look behind

Doesn't need a magic touch
