Was He Waiting? (Moss)

When I was a young boy my grandpa said to me

If we could take the lid of life I'd wonder what we'd see

He never did explain his words it's long since he has died

But suddenly they flooded back to touch my mind inside

My grandpa was a godly man who used to kneel and pray

And he believed that God to hear the prayers he used to say

I wish I had that steadfast faith that humble honest pride

I really hope God waited there to greet him when he died

To greet him when he died

To greet him when he died

To greet him when he died

I am feeling cold and weary

My limbs are too tired to control

The time ahead looks oh so dreary

It digs a big hole in my soul

For life can be so sad it's lonely

When the one that you love just doesn't care

An you open your eyes each morning

To find there is nobody there

To greet him when he died

To greet him when he died

To greet him when he died
